7. BLACK LOUNGE FILM SERIES “KAFOU”
Friday, May 11, 2018, 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Black Lounge Film Series continues to bring global Black cinema to Historic Overtown. For its 5th edition on Friday, May 11th at 7pm, the series will present Kafou, an award-winning independent film directed by Haitian filmmaker Bruno Mourral. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with writer/producer of the film, Gilbert Mirambeau Jr. Learn more here.

8. FEMME SATURDAYS: DE-STIGMATIZE MENTAL HEALTH
Sunday, May 12, 2018, 10:00 a.m. –  1:00 p.m.
Join the Miami Worker’s Center on Saturday, May 12 for an important conversation on stigmas surrounding mental health in communities of color. MUCE in partnership with the Downtown Development Authority, Little Haiti Cultural Center, and Art of Black Miami, is bringing the vibrant vibes of Haitian Culture to Bayfront Park for a special Mother’s Day celebration. Bring your lawn chairs, picnic baskets, cash to support the vendors, and your family for a Sunday Fun-Day of Caribbean Vibes.
